When to take measurements: It is imperative that you take your measurements when your swelling is at its most reduced state. This is typically first thing in the morning or, if applicable, following treatment.

How to take measurements: In order to take measurements, you'll need a measuring tape as well as a pen and paper to record your measurements. If you don't have a measuring tape, you can access our printable measuring tape here or you can always use string and a ruler. Not all styles require all measurements so check the style you are interested in to see which measurements are necessary. There are two types of measurements you'll be taking - length and circumference. Use the guide below and be sure to watch the video for additional assistance.

Full Leg CIRCUMFERENCE MEASUREMENTS-

Ankle Circumference: Pull the measuring tape snugly around point - this is the narrowest part of your leg directly above the ankle bone. Record the circumference at this point.

Calf Circumference: Pull the measuring tape snugly around point - this is the fullest part of your calf. Record the circumference at this point.

Thigh Circumference: Pull the measuring tape snugly around point - this is the fullest part of your thigh just below the gluteal fold (crease where your butt meets your thigh). Record the circumference at this point.

Waist Circumference: Pull the measuring tape snugly around point - this is measured slightly above the hip bones. Record the circumference at this point.

LENGTH MEASUREMENTS-

TO Calf Length: Carefully measure the length from point (the floor) to point - this is located just below the crease in the knee. Record this length measurement.

TO Thigh Length: Carefully measure the length from point (the floor) to point - this is located just below the gluteal fold (crease where your butt meets your thigh). Record this length measurement.
