| This is a picture of me with my granddaughter, Jessica.
We were hiking in Arizona, July 6, 2006. I wear my Jobst thigh highs
no matter where I’m going or what I’m wearing: pants, skirts, etc.!
I am a busy homemaker and am on my feet a lot. I
began having trouble with my legs years ago during pregnancy. At one point,
my legs were so bothersome that I ended up in bed with Phlebitis. But the
problems didn’t end after delivery. Eventually I had a vein stripping on
one leg. I tried surgical support panty hose, but they were so hard to
put on and caused yeast infections that I did not wear them on a regular
basis even though they did help.
Just a year after the leg surgery, my problems had
returned. My legs hurt when I did housework, when I went shopping, whenever
I was on my feet for any length of time. I suffered for more than twenty
years. Finally I asked a friend what she did about her varicose
veins, etc. and she told me about Jobst Thigh High stockings that she wore
teaching school.
I was very skeptical that they would stay up, because I
had tried some thigh highs of another brand earlier and they were a waste of
money. In desperation, I bought one pair of Jobst thigh highs on her
recommendation. And they actually worked! I could put them on easily.
They didn’t cause yeast infections. They were comfortable to wear. I
couldn’t believe how good they felt and how long I could stand in the
kitchen or shopping without feeling pain.
I bought ten more pairs! I was a believer!
I still had the problem of the bulging, unsightly veins that had returned
from my first surgery. So I again had a second vein stripping on the
same bothersome leg to get rid of the uncomfortable and unsightly bulging
veins that had appeared before I began wearing the Jobst stockings.
Now after the surgery, my bad leg looks so much better, but still, my legs
tire very easily if I am on my feet for very long. But if I wear my
Jobst thigh highs, I can go, and go, and go.
It’s been over 2 years since my last surgery, and because
I am wearing the Jobst every day, the bulging veins have not returned as
they did after the first surgery. I am a grandmother now.
At age 61, I want my legs to carry me for many, many more years to come. I
don’t take them for granted. I do everything I can to help my legs.
I have a great stretch program, I walk at least a mile everyday, I work on
my posture, and I eat healthy.
Still, the very best thing that I do for my legs that
gives me energy and keeps me smiling is to wear my Jobst thigh highs every
single day. They are worth the price.
